Possible 3D format for movies to be released on a cloud network.

Every person with a little science background can well understand the concept of 3D for humans. Humans gather information as two different perspectives of external world with the help of two eyes, and then mind interprets it as one 3D view so that humans can see the depth of environment.

How do we enjoy movie shot with normal camera, even if output is not 3D?

This is just human intelligence about external world. If I say that when you see world with just one eye, keeping other closed, then what you see is just 2D, then many people will not agree. Because it is the intelligence of their mind which makes them still capable to identify 3D with just one eye open. But you can understand my point easily, if I say that with one eye open and other closed, what you see the world is just same as projection of single camera output on a flat screen of a movie hall. Because everyone knows that in screening of a normal movie, we can still enjoy 3D kind of effect, because your mind is trained enough to interpret missing information of depth on a flat screen. Otherwise it would have been a tough job for movie makers to convince you with what they want to show you. But believe me when you see from a single eye then you cannot correctly estimate the dimension of depth of environment. But still a man with only one eye working may survive easily just because of the simple fact that we keep moving our head naturally here and there, and our mind gets the clue of 3D vision even when we use single eye. So human mind is great.

When information about two perspectives continuously enters human mind through two eyes, then human mind even then can only see one view at one time. So what happens really is that human mind keeps oscillating very fast between two views and keep interpreting 3D view accordingly. Since we know that only 25 frames per second is enough to force humans to believe in the continuity of moving objects on screen. Because effect of light lasts for a small time interval and we use as low as 12 frames per second for flash type animations and humans do not complaint about any jerk observed when picture changes suddenly from one frame to other.

Now we have 35 mm cameras which is best match to human eyes. So using two such cameras on a nice fixture provides us a chance to capture two perspectives of a scene simultaneously. Let us say that we use camera this time with higher frame rate than usual. So reasonably high speed cameras will help us to construct final version of these two perspectives combined as one 3D movie.

In final format of movie we need to throw frames of the above shot two views on a single screen randomly very fast skipping the one turn by turn. Using transparency mechanism mix some frames even superimposed in between. I mean to say that just create confusion for human mind fast enough not to give them a chance to understand what is happening. They will accept the 3D illusion as natural as they do in real life.


Now using simple optics design a pair of glasses which can provide virtual image of screen magnified enough to feel the theatre and at a distance from eyes which is comfortable to watch. This is very simple to achieve without affecting human eye adversely. In fact a good design will help the person to correct his vision (people with spectacles) by watching movie. But you do not need to believe me on this. But I have understood one fact completely that light is food for your mind. Rest what you eat is mostly for your material body. Visible range of spectrum is good for human eyes. Slowly people across the globe has started realizing this fact.

How to calculate depth illusion to start the magic of 3d.

Depth effect will be added during editing. Depth of scene is determined in terms of time. Depth of some fraction of seconds is enough for your viewers. Try to mimic speed of light in such a way that every frame is fired from largest possible depth and suddenly moved to z=0. If for the time being if you neglect z direction then effect is somewhat like scaling up suddenly to fill the screen.
I think if you throw both channels of videos with reduced transparency and then adding both channels in compositing might produce nice effect. Here I am thinking about extending frame rate along depth also.

How to understand it easily for post processing.

Suppose we are working on adobe after effects then what you do first take a snapshot of pair of human eyes and mark a point in center between two eyes. Now activate 3d mode for layer to push it along z-axis into the depth of infinity so that both eyes and centre marked are three linear points. Now throw both channels of video frames from center of corresponding reference eye to fill the screen with in least possible time. Add motion blur. Adjust transparency and compositing mode and do some more experimentations to produce nice mind boggling zoom effect to force the human to believe that there is a depth into the scene. People working in compositing can think of many noce ways to create this magic. Which can be seen by optical device which may be digital also to produce 360 environment. Since I know that human eye remains illusioned in the same manner by information entering into eyes with speed of light. Since format is 3d so grid of pixels are added in depth by moving fast to fill the screen.
